Speed Mentoring is activity where students meet with mentors on their Science Fair project or Engineering Design at a critical point in the project process.
Students come prepared with their hypothesis or engineering design statement and a project plan. Mentors discuss their project to make sure the project is safe, scientifically age appropriate, and will produce results.
For an science inquiry project, the mentor will counsel the student to assure that the process is statistically significant, and that the experiment validates the hypothesis.
For an engineering design project, the mentor will counsel the student to assure the proces innovative and tested.
We will be at Hudson High School cafeteria. Mentors arrive at 7:30 for organizational meeting. Students are scheduled from 8am to 11am and may talk to several mentors
Students are invited from any school or home school in the multi-county area that is served by the Western Reserve Districe Science Day held at the University of Akron.
